Google Workspace Integrates AI Across Docs, Slides, Meet
Google rolled out a wave of Workspace updates on August 20–24, tightening AI integration throughout productivity tools. Most notably: Google Vids recording is now built directly into Slides, letting users capture narrated presentations in one streamlined workflow. The Gemini app can turn complex questions into interactive visualizations and models, making advanced analysis accessible to non-specialists. Google Meet hardware touch controllers are getting a cleaner UI on Neat and Poly devices, and admins can now view Google Chat usage metrics alongside Gemini adoption reports — helping measure actual AI ROI across teams. Gemini Enterprise is also being configured with purpose-built agents for finance and legal sectors, offering pre-trained compliance and domain reasoning.
Oracle Fusion HCM Adds AI Talent Agents
Oracle announced Fusion Agentic Applications for HR on August 11 — coordinated AI agents embedded directly within Fusion Cloud HCM. These agents continuously analyse workforce data, skills inventories, and learning records to recommend internal mobility paths, flag emerging skill gaps, and suggest development before shortages impact operations. Built-in approval hierarchies and transactional context mean agents can propose — and help execute — decisions without exposing sensitive data. Oracle positions this as moving from static talent records to proactive talent agility.
Microsoft Merges Pathways into Agentic Solutions
Microsoft restructured its partner specializations effective August, merging Low Code Application Development and Intelligent Automation into a single Agentic Business Solutions track. Simultaneously, analytics and data specializations consolidated into Azure Analytics. The message is unambiguous: Microsoft sees the future of business software as agent-native. New performance and skilling requirements push partners toward building coordinated, reasoning-agent capabilities rather than isolated automations — aligning Azure, Fabric, and Power Platform around a shared agent architecture.
The Emerging Standard: Agent-Native Software
Google, Oracle, and Microsoft — alongside Salesforce and Xero covered in our earlier report — are all redesigning core products around the same architecture: agents that understand context, follow rules, and act across workflows. The era of “add AI as a sidebar” is ending; enterprise software now expects agents to carry process logic, compliance, and domain expertise. Organizations planning upgrades should prioritize platforms that embed agent capability at the foundation, not as a late add-on.
